We have 2-3 years of additional training and education after dental school that prepares us to meet the needs of children, children with special needs, and children with special medical needs.

Some regular dentists will not see children until they are 3-5 years old. As board certified pediatric dentists, our additional education provides us with the skill and expertise to recognize, diagnose and treat dental problems at the earliest stages of infancy and toddlerhood so that children can possibly avoid painful and invasive treatment as they grow.

Dr. Justin Edwards and Dr. Joey Musselwhite are proud to be board certified pediatric dentists in Richmond, VA with specialized training and additional education to work exclusively with children from infancy through the teen years. While a board certified pediatric dentist demonstrates exceptional skill and knowledge, only 40% of pediatric dentists are board certified.
